Leading United States professional photo imaging lab, Miller’s Lab, has announced it will employ Taopix software to operate its new ‘Designer Plus’ ordering system for press prints.
This user-friendly, online ordering software now provides Miller’s Lab customers with the tools and templates they need to produce highly personalized, creative press products, such as business cards, greeting cards, calendars and notepads. Utilizing all the innovative features of Taopix’ latest platform, Miller’s Lab’s main objective is to enhance the overall customer experience with a more stream-lined, flexible and accurate design and ordering software.
“As a company at the forefront of the photo imaging market, we are constantly looking for ways to enrich our product offering and ensure our customers receive the best possible service,” explained John Rank, Product Development Manager, Miller’s Lab. “As such, we decided to launch ‘Designer Plus’ to enhance our order and design process and Taopix software was soon identified as the ideal solution to power this new system. With Taopix, we have added new artistic tools, including different backgrounds, masks and frames, providing more freedom for creativity when designing a press product.
“The software is also reliable and user-friendly from both a customer and internal management perspective, improving our workflow and ensuring our staff can operate it with limited additional training. As a result, these workflow improvements should not only help to ensure customer satisfaction on the products we deliver, but also help to speed up the process of updating our customized ordering systems when introducing a new product, enabling us to be quicker to market with new products,” continued Rank.
One of the many features of Taopix software that Miller’s Lab will benefit from is the ability to make specific color corrections and image quality adjustments to individual images supplied by the customer. This level of control will enable Miller’s Lab to provide a highly accurate correction service that significantly enhances the finished product.
“Our customers really value the professional color correction service we offer, but previously we would need to apply a blanket correction to a collage of images. With Taopix, we can not only enhance each image separately but we can also use the ‘project elements workflow’ module to see the finished product rendered exactly as the customer designed it,” he added.
Miller’s Lab is currently operating Taopix Portfolio 3.2.1 alongside its HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press and Kodak Nexpress to deliver its comprehensive line of press products. However, the company intends to expand the implementation of the Taopix powered ‘Designer Plus’ service to its other product ranges, starting with the album and book product line.
In addition, Miller’s Lab is keen to upgrade its current platform to the recently launched Taopix Portfolio 3.3. This latest portfolio includes over 50 new features designed to drive sales and increase profitability for photo finishers as well as add-value to end products and enhance the end-customer experience. Some of the new elements of Taopix 3.3 include the Single Prints feature, enabling customers to buy individual photo prints, upgrades made to the shopping cart facility to make up-selling more prominent and successful, and enhancements to the Voucher feature, now supporting custom scripts for almost unlimited voucher promotions.
