She was named by NFIB as Mississippi Small Business Champion in 2004, the first year the program was initiated nationwide.
Peter Rose, currently Director of Australian Activities for PMA, began his career in the photo industry at Hanimex in 1961, and at that time became active in PMA. He held several roles at Hanimex, eventually becoming Sales and Marketing Manager for Hanimex Australia. In 1981, he was appointed the first Managing Director for J. Osawa Australia, a Japanese trading house for photographic equipment. In 1983, Peter, along with two key employees, founded a new company, Merit Imports – which eventually purchased Baltronics, a professional supply business that held the Sinar, Broncolor and Foba agencies. Merit sales grew rapidly with agencies including Vivitar, Yashica, Fotima camera bags, Panasonic flash and cameras, Sea and Sea underwater cameras, and Vivanco video editing equipment.
After 10 years in business, Peter sold his company to Haminex and became General Manager of Camerahouse Australia, and in 1997, was asked by Kodak to head up the largest of their regions in Australia.
In 2005, Peter took on the director role for PMA Australia, where he has spearheaded the growth of the PMA Australia Annual Exhibition and Convention with the innovative introduction of the public to the event, and the expansion into framing, drawing framers to the PPFA Conference and Expo. The 2011 event drew over 20,000 trade, professionals and enthusiasts. Under Peter's guidance, PMA Australia also offers regional state meetings, and has developed the Future Leaders Program. He continues to coordinate the PPFA, APCI, PIEA and DIMA groups in Australia.
