Binding Industries Association (BIA) has honored Richard Senior, Duraweld Ltd., and Vernon Schwent, Silvanus Products, with the 2013 BIA Hall of Fame Award. The ceremony will take place at the 2013 BIA Annual Conference on April 8–10 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Founded in 2008, the BIA Hall of Fame is dedicated to those binding and loose-leaf manufacturing industry executives who have gone far beyond the standard obligations to become a dominant force in the shaping of BIA and the business of finishing. Sponsored by the Binding Industries Association (BIA), this award is dedicated to the spirit of those industry pioneers whose hard work and determination have created a vibrant, growing, and changing industry.
Richard Senior is described as a visionary thought leader, generous of both time and expertise. He has worked to benefit many loose-leaf manufacturing and postpress services companies throughout the world and has worked on a variety of issues, including Lean manufacturing, customer service, outbound marketing, Web development, and lead generation. His company, Duraweld Limited, is the U.K.’s leading manufacturer of customized plastic stationery products.
Vernon Schwent is being honored with this award for his excellence, creative abilities, and service to others in the industry. He has produced some of the most creative and unique binders and accessory products in the industry, and many decorative techniques used in the industry today were developed by him and his staff.
