OKI Data Americas has been recognized by Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI), receiving the analyst group’s Winter “Pick” award for its School Docu Tool solution in the category of Outstanding Vertical Market Solution: Education. The solution was praised for its ease of use, unique feature set and affordability, making it one of nine document imaging software solutions selected as a “Pick” from among dozens reviewed. School Docu Tool is a software application available as an embedded solution within certain OKI multifunction printers (MFPs).
The School Docu Tool solution enables educators to prepare bubble sheet tests with 15, 30, 60 or 100 questions, and an optional essay field. A master sheet is printed for teachers to populate with the correct answers, which is then used for grading tests through the School Docu Tool embedded application. Completed tests are loaded into the automatic document feeder of one of the versatile OKI MB700 Series monochrome MFPs which then scans and grades each test quickly and accurately. The solution also provides reports to assist teachers with analyzing test results by student, by classroom and by test question. The large touch-screen panel of the OKI MB700 Series MFPs helps make the process easy and efficient. Additionally, test results can be exported for use in the school’s student information system.
"OKI Data Americas is honored that School Docu Tool has received a Winter 2013 'Pick' award from Buyers Lab as an Outstanding Vertical Market Solution for Education," said Carl Taylor, Director of Marketing for OKI Data Americas. "OKI is dedicated to developing valuable tools to optimize the performance of our customers' printing environments. This award underscores our commitment to delivering cost-effective document output and management solutions to the education market, and to serving our customers' unique and evolving needs through printing innovation."
According to BLI, “OKI School Docu Tool delivers a ‘just right’ combination of features, ease of use and affordability, helping school systems replace dedicated OMR test systems and forms while retaining the bubble sheet multiple-choice test format many teachers like. Most importantly, students can benefit from the solution. Teachers will spend less time creating and grading tests, which makes them more available after class.”
BLI, the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging hardware and software, gives special recognition to the hardware and software products that provided the most outstanding performances in the company’s unique evaluations. The coveted “Pick” awards are given twice a year for products and solutions that rise above the competition in key areas such as value, feature set, ease of use, ease of administration, hardware compatibility, software integration, security and support.
