Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, announced the Company has earned the Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) "2013 Solutions Line of the Year" award for its extensive portfolio of document imaging software. The BLI Solutions Line of the Year award is a yearly recognition of the document imaging provider that offers the strongest and most comprehensive solutions portfolio across a range of software categories. After close evaluation, BLI determined that Canon has the most impressive solutions lineup overall of any original equipment manufacturer in the areas BLI Solutions Center covers, which include accounting/cost control and recovery, print management, document capture and workflow, document management, device management, mobile printing and security solutions.
"Canon is very pleased to have been recognized by BLI for our comprehensive portfolio of software solutions," said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A. "We believe that tight integration of software is a critical component in addressing customer workflow challenges and delivering solutions that help lessen business process complexity, operating costs, and drive enhanced worker productivity."
"Customers are increasingly coming to rely on document imaging software solutions to streamline mission-critical business processes, increase the productivity of knowledge workers, and leverage their existing investment in imaging hardware," said Jamie Bsales, senior product editor for solutions at BLI. "Canon offers an unrivaled catalog of software products in the key areas that can make a real difference to a customer's document-centric processes."
In addition to receiving the overall Solutions Line of the Year award, the following Canon offerings were recognized by BLI to receive awards in their respective categories:
Canon uniFLOW v5.1 for "Outstanding Output Management Solution": Ideal for any size business, Canon's uniFLOW v5.1 software is designed to help save time and money by providing effective and streamlined control over an entire print and multifunction device fleet. With v5.1, users can submit or release their print jobs more securely using a smart phone or tablet, and the software can also provide detailed device information such as meter counts, toner levels, or error for efficient device management.
Canon Quick Printing Tool for "Outstanding Achievement in Innovation":As part of the imageRUNNER Advance Desktop, the Canon Quick Printing Tool is located on the user's PC desktop and displays an icon which, when moused over, converts to a "quick menu." Offering four shortcuts to the frequently used functions "Print," "Fax," "Convert to PDF," and "Print Preview," which accesses the Office Make-Ready/Binder area, users can drag-and-drop documents on one of these buttons to get instant access to that function.
Canon Universal Login Manager for "Outstanding Achievement in Innovation": The Canon Universal Login Manager (ULM) is a server-less application for imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, which provides an easy and convenient solution for user authentication. Utilizing AMS (Access Management System), found on all imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, ULM allows comprehensive control of access on a per-user basis, and is programmed with a simple user authentication that includes image login and proximity card login support. Delivering basic usage and cost reporting functionality, the ULM is ideal for small- to medium-sized businesses.
These recent awards from BLI follow December's news that Canon's line of multifunction devices featuring imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE models were named the Buyers Laboratory 2013 "Line of the Year for Energy Efficiency."
