Contex has announced the expansion of PageDrop, a cloud-based solution to process wide-format scans, to its IQ 4400 series scanners. Since PageDrop's initial January launch for IQ 2490 scanners, users have responded enthusiastically to the convenience and effectiveness of the app. The free mobile app bypasses computers and scanning software for single page scans, enabling smartphone and tablet users to send Contex-scanned documents directly to their desired destinations, including Dropbox, HP ePrint, and email.
PageDrop's expansion to the IQ 4400 series scanners is complemented with remarkable savings on the PageDrop-ready IQ 4490. As part of its current "Spring Savings" promotion, Contex is offering discounts of up to 40 percent on the IQ 4490 as well as the HD 5450 and award-winning HD Ultra i3690S scanners. Each scanner comes with a stand, NextImage software, and a multiple-year onsite warranty. This promotion lasts through June 30.
"We first developed PageDrop to address customer demand for a single-page mobile scanning and distribution solution," states Steve Blanken, General Manager, Contex Americas. "The response to PageDrop has been incredibly encouraging, and we're excited to introduce even more Contex customers to the app."
Contex IQ 4400 users can now benefit from a combination of the latest in scanning and mobile technology. Its Gigabit Ethernet with xDTR2 helps IQ 4400 series scanners quickly convert scans into PDFs and expedite network and cloud sharing. PageDrop utilizes Contex-specific QR codes, PageDrop Servers, and a patent-pending security feature to securely scan and transfer images. The application further elevates the scanning process by storing preferences, allowing users to send scanned documents to the specified location with ease.
