Technology and products close-up in a quasi-real retail environment, examples of best practices from all segments of visual communication, transfer of knowledge, new ideas and networking: the viscom World of Inspiration was the eye-catcher and central meeting place at viscom 2012. "This year in Düsseldorf we want to continue the concept and develop it further," says viscom Director Petra Lassahn. "Practical relevance will remain the pivotal point here. Furthermore we will take up brand packaging as a new topic to go with value added printing". Exhibitors are again invited this year to present their companies to visitors with their products and projects at the special area. viscom 2013 will take place from November 7 to 9 in Düsseldorf.
Solutions for the Point of Sale in a lifelike environment will again be showcased at the viscom World of Inspiration in a replica supermarket. On an area of app. 200m², the Retail World provides a demonstration of a shopping experience. Here exhibitors have the opportunity to present novelties and trends in shop and object design, retail technology, lighting technology, digital signage and other innovations for the PoS. The focus will be on four segments: electronics/consumer goods, fashion/shoes/accessories, confectionary/café and beauty/fragrance.
Supplementing the Retail World, the Value Added Printing and Brand Packaging special area shows the staging and presentation of brands at the PoS using print finishing and packaging. Packaging trends in materials, finishing and technologies will be on show here. High quality product packaging, innovative designs and materials are one of the decisive factors for purchasing.
Another new feature at the viscom World of Inspiration is the Print Star area. Here, the best practices from printing technologies will be shown. In cooperation with the "Deutscher Drucker" specialist magazine, high quality, innovative and unusual printing products will be on display.
Furthermore, the Future Corner and with it the topic of high-tech in print will celebrate its premiere at viscom. Pioneering special printing topics such as, for example, "printed electronics" are to be presented and discussed here.
Materials of all kinds are the subject of the Materials Show: Design meets Materials, which once again presents printed and finished materials of all kinds.
Digital projects in a class of their own are the topic at the Digital Signage Best Practice Award. The nominees and winners of the competition inviting participants from all parts of Europe will present their entries at the viscom World of Inspiration (www.digital-signage-best-practice-award.eu).
During the entire duration of the trade fair, the Speakers Corner will again be the venue for attractive lectures on recent examples from professional practice and the challenges they pose. The focal topic this year is customer experience and brand staging. The daily Lunch & Learn events also provide new input. A place to withdraw for quiet discussions is the Inspiration Lounge with its coffee shop. For exhibitors of the World of Inspiration and their guests, a Special VIP Service will be offered.
