GMC Software Technology (GMC) has announced that veteran technology industry executive, Michael Charest, has joined the company as vice president of sales for financial services and insurance. Charest will support the company’s continued expansion of its GMC Inspire solution into vertical markets within North America.
An accomplished executive, Charest brings to GMC over 15 years of sales leadership and management experience within the software industry covering both enterprise software and SaaS for the financial services, insurance, healthcare, legal and retail industries. Charest will report to Steve Francis, president and general manager of GMC, North America.
Most recently, Charest was senior vice president of sales and marketing for NetLaw, an SaaS-based B2B solution for delivering digital estate planning services. Prior to joining NetLaw, Charest was the chief revenue officer for Rewardix, a digital marketing and mobile solution focused on the U.S. retail market and vice president of worldwide sales for Prinova.
Charest was a large contributor to the success of Exstream Software (now HP Exstream), joining the company in 2000 as a regional sales director and promoted to group vice president to manage the company’s financial services division. He also launched and managed Exstream’s insurance division, which covered life, P&C and healthcare, turning it into the market leader and the largest revenue-producing unit for the company.
“We are extremely pleased that Michael has joined our talented team at GMC,” said Steve Francis, president and general manager of GMC, North America. “His extensive background makes him the perfect choice for advancing our position as the preferred provider of customer communications management in the financial services and insurance sectors.”
“I am excited to be joining GMC and look forward to building on its existing core strengths,” said Charest. “GMC has a strong reputation for innovative solutions that drive a positive customer experience. I am looking forward to working with the team and supporting the continued growth of the business within the financial services and insurance sectors.”
