Durst hits the accelerator with big investments in R&D, production department expansion and personnel reinforcement with new, highly specialized employees. With more than 400 Gamma systems installed around the world, more than 120 ceramic printers in Italy (18 of them new Gamma models sold since the start of 2013), Durst is reconfirmed as the top maker of digital printing systems for decorating ceramic surfaces and announces imminent technological innovations while continuing to expand across the globe.
Among its latest endeavors is the opening of sales and assistance offices in South Africa, India and the Asia-Pacific area and entry into the Chinese market, setting up a new business company in partnership with C. ILLIES TRADING Co. Ltd. Strategic decisions that delineate an expansion process that includes enlarging the Brixen plant with the addition of more than 6,000 square meters devoted to digital printer assembly to meet growing demand. By spring of 2014 Durst premises in Lienz/Austria will also be inaugurating a new building devoted to making printing systems for the graphic arts market. Other news concerns new hires: Since January 2013, 25 people have increased the Brixen staff, 15 of them wholly devoted to the ceramics sector.
Since its 2005 entry into the ceramics market Durst has played a fundamental role in digitalizing printing processes for it. Strong in its more than 80 years’ experience and consolidated know-how in reproducing images with printers devoted to the graphic arts, the company created digital print systems specifically for ceramics companies and designed for use on traditional production lines. At the moment the R&D department of the Alto Adige firm is engaged in developing new technologies for the ceramics world. Systems equipped with vanguard components about to be patented that herald revolutionary changes in the ceramics production process thanks to a new “synchronized digital glazing”.
