Hologram industry recognises production equipment pioneer

The man behind some of the most significant developments in hologram production equipment has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to the industry.

Dimes Pastorelli, CEO of Diaures, Diavy and MHT (Machinery Holographic Technology) has won the prestigious Brian Monaghan Award for Business Innovation at the International Hologram Manufacturers Association’s (IHMA) Excellence in Holography Awards 2013 in Delhi (NCR), India.

The award is named for Brian Monaghan, an innovative entrepreneur in holography who died tragically young, and goes to the person selected by the Board of the IHMA as an individual who has followed the tradition of business innovation established by Brian Monaghan.

In presenting the award, the IHMA chairman Mike Messmer said: “Dimes has been the driving force behind some of the most innovative hologram production developments.

“The company he founded, MHT, was one of the first to build wide-web embossing equipment and has sold more than 200 machines around the world. He continues to be extremely active in the sector working closely with companies he’s been involved with for many years to develop, test and bring to market new applications.”

His latest product is a holographic aluminum foil for blister-packs for which he has designed special electro-forming and embossing equipment to emboss directly on the aluminium structure.

The Holography Awards recognise outstanding industry achievement and are presented to organisations who have introduced the most innovative or commercially viable hologram product or technique over the year.

Organised by the IHMA, the Excellence in Holography Awards - sponsored by industry newsletter Holography News® - was attended by delegates from the worldwide holography community. Entries were judged by the Board, which comprises representatives from member companies.
