An automotive holographic application, DVD sleeve packaging, and a calendar and magazine insert took the top spots in the Best Applied Decorative Product Award at the International Hologram Manufacturers Association’s (IHMA) Excellence in Holography Awards 2013 in Delhi (NCR), India.
NovaVision Inc, Vacumet Corp and Angell-Demmel North America’s Nissan LEAF holographic kick plate was the overall category winner with the two other applications commended.

Organised by the IHMA, the annual Excellence in Holography Awards recognise outstanding achievement and reward those who have been at the forefront of the industry, pioneering innovative or new hologram products or techniques, as well as the best use of holograms in a commercial context.
A display of products and applications featured at the event, showcasing the diverse security, anti-counterfeiting and packaging benefits provided by cutting-edge holographic technologies. Delegates from hologram suppliers, manufacturers and users around the world gathered at the awards, which presented at the annual industry dinner on November 8 during The Holography Conference.
Entries were judged by the IHMA Board, representatives of the worldwide industry elected by IHMA members. IHMA chairman Mike Messmer said: “We have again been impressed by the many remarkable innovations that keep this exciting, relevant and versatile technology to the fore.
“Creativity, design excellence and diversity led the way among the entries, reinforcing how holography continues to push forward technical and commercial boundaries to find new applications and markets.”
The IHMA is made up of nearly 100 of the world's leading producers and converters of holograms for banknote security, anti-counterfeiting, brand protection, packaging, graphics and other commercial applications around the world. Member companies actively cooperate to maintain the highest professional, security and quality standards.
