The National Print Owners Association (NPOA) has released the initial slate of seminar presenters for its "Spring Break 2014" Owners' Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The conference will be held at the Renaissance Plantation Hotel February 27 - March 2, 2014 in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas (GOA)-
“I believe we have lined up a very strong roster of industry experts who can offer attendees real world knowledge and solutions,” says NPOA President Jace Prejean. “The final agenda and exact schedule will be finalized in the next week or two but this is a great start.”
One highlight of the program will be a presentation by Warren Werbitt, owner of Pazazz in Montreal, Canada. A self-proclaimed "printing fanatic" who loves printing, his 2008 YouTube video titled "Printing's Alive" went viral and has since recorded more than a quarter of a million views.
Also on the agenda is industry guru Larry Hunt who will present a special seminar titled "Keys to Running a Successful Small Business." A recent version of this seminar was presented online by the Small Business Administrations’ SCORE program, and drew more than 1,000 attendees.
Recognizing the increasing influence of Web-to-Print in our industry, NPOA has added an internationally famous expert in that area. Jennifer Matt, owner and founder of WEb2Print Experts, will share her real-world knowledge on how to survive and prosper in the Web-to-print word. She speaks bluntly and honestly about the "Insane inefficiencies that are the norm in the print buying world."
To address the intricacies of the large-format industry, which is offering many printers new profit centers, David King, owner of MARKETKING, in Lancaster, MA, will be presenting two separate seminars on different aspects of the industry. King's company is considered by many to be one of the best companies in America for large format graphics. As a long-time columnist for Digital Graphics & Sign Business Magazine, King has earned the reputation as an expert with unsurpassed, down-to-earth knowledge about the large-format industry.
A long-time industry expert on marketing, Mike Stevens will present in his own unique style a seminar titled "Up Front and Personal." Mike owned and managed the PrintOwners website for approximately four years before selling the site to the NPOA in late 2012.
Also scheduled for the educational program is NPOA Executive Director John Stewart who will be presenting "Determining the Value of Your Business Can Be Painful if You're Not Prepared." As a special bonus, all conference attendees will receive a free copy of "Print Shop for Sale," the only book of its kind in the printing industry. The book, authored by Stewart and Larry Hunt, retails for $89 and is a primer on how to establish the selling or purchase price of a small to medium size printing firm.
The conference venue and headquarters hotel is less than a 15-minute taxi-ride from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (Airport Code: FLL). The hotel is a modern, beautifully appointed facility offering complimentary parking, free WiFi, pool, fitness center and most important of all an excellent selection of ballrooms and break-out facilities ideally suited for NPOA's expanded meeting requirements.
