FiberMark has announced the winners of its Annual Specifier Awards. The awards program, which FiberMark launched in 1992, honors projects that have been created using the company’s materials showcasing the best of color, texture, pattern & design.
Design creativity was very evident in the breadth of submissions that FiberMark received for the awards. Entries came from a wide range of industries and applications including packaging, publishing, office/collateral, print media and specialty, as well as from diverse geographies. Submissions were judged by a peer review committee that evaluated the entries on design, decoration/printing quality, construction quality, and relationship of the materials to the project.
The Green Award was awarded to Brown – Forman Corporation for its collection of Jack Daniel’s packaging. The range features FiberMark’s Dorset® and Dorset Duplex paperboards. The boxes, constructed of these rigid and durable paperboards containing PCW content, were chosen based on the structural designs' ability to eliminate the need for plastic typically used in secondary packaging as well as demonstrating that the box maintain its integrity and withstand the wear and tear encountered in the retail environment.
The Best of Show-Gold winner was Home Box Office’s [HBO] Game of Thrones VIP Mailer with a well thought out idea in this multi-part "invitation" box. Each box is wrapped in FiberMark’s line of Pellaq by Skivertex with an interior featuring Pellaq Snakeskin.
Best of Show-Silver went to Nike’s Double Shoe Box which used FiberMark’s Carbon-X by Corvon where the design for the box was developed to be a presentation along with offering a functional aspect, creating a box that one would want to keep and not just toss away.
Best of Show-Bronze used Silktouch Nuba by Skivertex to cover this playing card self-promotion box for Stranger & Stranger. The intricate foil and emboss decorations made this a spectacular eye-catching package design.
“Every year, we see designers pushing the envelope on innovation and creativity as it relates to FiberMark materials,” said Anthony MacLaurin, CEO at FiberMark. “The quality of the submissions continues to rise! We thank all those who decided to showcase their award-winning talent and projects.”
