Durst has announced that Victor Gomez will deliver a presentation on In-Line vs. Off-Line Finishing of Digitally Printed Labels and Packaging, on May 2 at the IMI 5th Digital Printing Presses Conference being held April 30-May 2 in Scottsdale, AZ.
The topic is very pertinent to today's label and packaging converter. A majority of converters printing with flexographic or other non-digital technologies print and finish in-line because it is efficient, yet it is still rare to finish digitally printed output in-line. In his presentation, Gomez will explore the reasons why this disparity exists, when it makes sense to go in-line, and when off-line is a better option. Gomez will review how digital presses and finishing equipment are changing, and how these changes will affect the decision to go in-line or off-line.
Based in Albany, NY USA, Mr. Gomez began his career with Durst in 1999. He focuses exclusively on narrow web label and packaging printing, a key segment for Durst worldwide and is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events. Gomez holds a Master's degree from Columbia University in New York, NY, and a BA from Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY.
