Sihl Vision Clear Films Product From Sihl Digital Imaging

Sihl LLC has announced the Vision line of clear films for aqueous inkjet printers. The line includes four new clear films, 3161, 3162, 3163 and 3164; all 4 mil polyester clear films designed for low ink load overlays, color keys, window and door graphics, and other applications where optical clarity is essential.

Sihl Vision Clear Film 3161 (4mil) is an inkjet clear film without a side stripe. 3161 starts with a clear 4 mil polyester base. The addition of an extremely clear universal dye and pigment ink compatible topcoat provides excellent print performance and maintains optical clarity. 3161, is designed for low ink load?overlays, color keys, window graphics, and other clear film applications. Sihl 3161 is not compatible with Hewlett-Packard series printers due to the edge sensing technology imbedded in those printers. For a Sihl clear film compatible with Hewlett Packard printers see Sihl 3162 with Side Stripe. It is available in the following sizes: 17-inch, 24-inch, 36-inch and 44-inch widths.

Sihl Vision Clear Film with Side Stripe 3162 (4mil) is the same as 3161 inkjet clear film but with a removable side stripe for printers that sense the media edge during loading, such as Hewlett-Packard Design Jet 5000, 5500 and Z-series printers. It is available in the following sizes: 24-inch, 36-inch, 42-inch, 50-inch, and 54-inch widths.

Sihl Vision Absolute Clear Film 3163 (4mil) is an optically clear 4 mil polyester film designed for high end color keys to check registration, trapping, and color breaks, identify density concerns and confirm process and spot color setup. Sihl 3163 features a proprietary clear coating that enables extremely fast drytimes and high inkload capacity of both dye and pigment inkjet inks without sacrificing clarity. Available in most common roll sizes.

Sihl Vision Clear Film with Interleaf 3164 (4mil) is the same as 3161 inkjet clear film but with an acid free interleaf paper wound into the roll. The interleaf provides extra protection against scratching while traveling through the printer and provides a high contrast white backing to help evaluate prints as they are printing. The interleaf will also allow for universal printer compatibility including printers that utilize edge sensing devices. Available in most common roll sizes.

Permovable is a self-adhesive, digitally printable sign and advertising graphic media for use outdoors on rough, porous surfaces. Permovable offers a host of benefits in comparison to previously available graphic films. It can be printed on commonly used large format digital printers. It is easily installed without need for special tools or surface preparation. Once installed, the printed film conforms to the structure underneath … concrete, asphalt, or other porous materials used in walls, slabs, sidewalks, streets and parking lots. It meets the anti-slip standards for outdoor walkways, and requires no over-laminate. Permovable is “vinyl-free”, posing no risk to the environment that can arise from metals and toxic plasticizers found in many conformable vinyl films.
