Mail.dat

BCC Software, a BÖWE BELL + HOWELL company and the leading developer of high-performance solutions for professional mailers, has released a new feature that dramatically increases the value of the Mail.dat functionality present in its flagship software solutions.

Available as an option for Mail Manager 2010 customers, and included with Mail Manager Full Service, BCC’s Mail.dat offering now includes a new updating capability that lets users easily submit last-minute mailing job changes to the USPS PostalOne! system. This updating feature, integrated into BCC’s existing Mail.dat feature set at no additional cost to users, provides a convenient and economical alternative to costly stand-alone Mail.dat software solutions.

“We’re thrilled to offer this new feature to our current and future customers,” said K. Jon Runstrom, BCC President. “With the Postal Service transitioning its data management processes to an electronic format, mailers need to have access to a flexible and affordable Mail.dat solution to get the most out of working with PostalOne!. This new feature gives our customers the most affordable method of updating the Mail.dat files for their presorted mailing.”

While processing a job using Mail Manager Full Service or 2010, mailers can use this new feature to revise previously submitted Mail.dat file data with an updated Mail.dat file that could include crucial new job status details, piece weight corrections, attribute definitions, and appointment information changes.
