Omtool AccuRoute

Ricoh Americas Corp., a leading provider of digital office equipment, announced the availability of Omtool?s AccuRoute solution, a document capture and distribution software solution that enables organizations in the legal, healthcare and financial services industries to eliminate manual, time-consuming document processes while achieving significant cost savings and productivity improvements. The solution is available to the Ricoh Channel through the Ricoh Independent Solutions Vendor Program (RiSVP).

AccuRoute, Omtool?s flagship product, streamlines the capture, conversion, communication, and archiving of paper and electronic documents into enterprise information management systems, including fully integrated fax server capabilities. Utilizing Ricoh multi-functional products (MFPs), this server-based document capture and handling platform provides fast, secure document distribution to multiple destinations in multiple formats, simultaneously with one scan. With AccuRoute, organizations in document-intensive environments are able to immediately access documents when and where they are needed.

?For many years, we have been working with Ricoh to provide customers with document capture solutions that dramatically improve their business processes and lower their total cost of ownership,? said Karen Cummings, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Omtool, Ltd. ?With AccuRoute, we will continue to deliver solutions together that enable organizations to run more efficiently and reduce the complexity associated with document workflows.?

One of three Ricoh alliance programs, RiSVP, developed in cooperation with Ricoh solution partners and Ricoh?s direct and dealer channels, focuses on two key areas: expansion of channel marketing opportunities for RiSVP members and simplifying solution access for Ricoh sales channels. By providing RiSVP member products directly from Ricoh, the direct and dealer channels have more opportunities for new revenue growth and simplified sales operations. In turn, RiSVP members enjoy faster and greater financial return on the investments they have made in developing solutions that when combined with Ricoh?s award-winning product portfolio address customers? key concerns.

?Given the current economic conditions, the ability to leverage existing technology infrastructure is critical for any business,? said Ron Potesky, senior vice president, corporate communications, product/solutions and channel marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. ?Both organizations bring unmatched solutions that, when used together, create synergies to facilitate more efficient and cost-effective business processes for our customers.?

Ricoh recognized the MFP would become the focal point of all business equipment and blazed a path to provide an open architecture platform to expand the products? usefulness. Through our patented ?Embedded Software Architecture? (ESA), developers have utilized the most extensive tool offering in the industry to create unique solutions, which have far exceeded customer expectations. Developers enjoy a wide range of individualized support options that have allowed them to reduce development costs by speeding up the development process. Customers have benefited from ESA through productivity increases and the use of existing technology to solve the ever-changing myriad of business challenges. Ricoh MFP?s running ESA have evolved from merely printing, scanning and faxing to providing end users with the profound realization they have truly purchased a full service business center.
