DC-645/DC-615 Integrated Folding System

DC-645/DC-615 Integrated Folding System

DC-645/DC-615 Integrated Folding System Product Image

Duplo Corp. extended the inline capabilities of its popular DC-645/DC-615 slitter/cutter/creaser and DC-445 creaser range by adding a knife fold attachment to the single system operation. With the new Integrated Folding System, printers can now fully finish different applications such as greeting cards, CD covers, folded ?tent? business cards, brochures, leaflets and many more without additional operators.

The knife folder incorporates two knife folds making it ideal for parallel fold applications such as letter and gate folds. With a speed of up to 50 sheets per minute, the new folder matches the capabilities of Duplo?s creasers and can also be by-passed for no-fold applications.

The Integrated Folding System can also incorporate other elements such as a cross-and straight-conveyor as well as simple and more sophisticated high capacity stackers specifically designed to neatly stack and retain even heavier jobs such as folded card stock. The cross-conveyor version keeps single batch outputs in sequence for applications such as photos, coupons and personalized direct mail.

The modular range enables customers to configure as many as 26 different arrangements to suit their individual requirements and match the flexibility of jobs that can be run on the Duplo range of finishers for digital color print. As a result, the Integrated Folding System can easily handle items printed in multiple-up formats, making it suitable for general commercial folding applications as well as sorting requirements for sequentially printed jobs.

Comments Si Nguyen, marketing director at Duplo USA Corporation: "Our DC-645/DC-615 slitter/cutter/creaser and the DC-445 creaser have been extremely successful in the growing Print on Demand market. Companies need to do small jobs very quickly and accurately so it's vital that margins gained during the printing process will not be lost in the finishing department. By adding a conveyor, folder and stacker option to our creaser product range, the flexible Integrated Folding System allows printers to automate the complete job set-up from one point and finish work in one pass with only one operator, resulting in considerable cost savings."

Duplo's Creaser Range

The flexibility of Duplo's creaser and slitter/cutter/creaser machines means that all jobs are simple to set up and easy to adjust to suit customer requirements.

DC-645 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser

The DC-645 has been recognized as a top quality digital finishing unit by many leading digital print companies, especially those producing photo and web-2-print related applications. It offers high quality slitting, cutting and creasing in a single pass while also opening the finishing process to networked management through JDF connectivity. This makes the DC-645 an ideal machine for a progressive printer looking to future-proof an investment, while being able to meet any requirements for short run and fast turnaround print production.

The vacuum-fed DC-645 automatically sets up the tooling to a printed registration mark by using its built-in camera, compensating for the common problem of image drift. This ensures that each processed sheet is finished accurately and that it slits, cuts, creases and perforates in precisely the right place, reducing waste and ensuring high quality and optimum output. In addition, an air knife lifts and separates each individual sheet to eliminate the problem of static and facilitates mark-free processing. The heavy duty DC-645 is capable of handling up to 26 sheets per minute and can accommodate a wide range of paper weights, ranging from 110 to 350gsm.

DC-615 Slitter/Cutter/Creaser

The versatile DC-615 provides a multi-functional finishing solution in one compact, easy-to-use package. Slitting, cutting and creasing digitally printed sheets in one pass, the DC-615 delivers efficient output with minimum operator intervention, resulting in a reduction of waste and production costs.

The easy to use 80 job memory and PC based WYSIWYG programming minimize down time and training requirements. A waste collection bin keeps operation tidy while a 100mm capacity feeder allows unattended operation. An optional CCD camera will automatically read each sheet, recalling the correct program from memory and then applying any adjustments necessary for image drift.

DC-445 Creaser

Ideal for the short run digital color print market, the cost-effective, fully automatic DC-445 provides an essential solution to the problem of toner cracking on digitally printed work when folded. Capable of applying up to 15 creases in one pass and with a speed of up 50 sheets per minute, the DC-445 Creaser can handle the output of most digital presses.
