Konica Minolta announced the availability of the EFI MicroPress 7.0 Production Print Workflow Solution for the bizhub PRO 920 production printing system. MicroPress 7.0 operates with a raster-based workflow and is offered in three hardware configuration options. The MicroPress Prodigy Workflow Server is suited for single engine configurations in need of prepress and workflow management functionality. MicroPress Professional Workflow Server drives up to four devices. For heavy production print environments, the MicroPress Production Workflow Server drives up to 12 devices and features workflow tools and complete fault-tolerance. The TrueEdit application offers digital prepress tools that enable: the editing of RIPed files; the merging of RIPed files with variable data; the control of unique page settings; job-level and page-level changes and tab insertion; and the selection of either facing pages or front-to-back views. -

With version 7.20 of ColorGATE’s RIP software, customers now benefit from the new optional TVI Calibration Module (TVICM) which allows tonal value corrections, similar to offset printing. TVICM is easy to use because of the integrated process calibration wizard. Also, the simulation of spot color gradients have been improved and the preview feature for cut paths has been integrated. Furthermore, the internal control wedge evaluation for large format printing in Proofgate 7 and Proofgate 7 Module (PGM) has been adjusted to the PSD defaults. In addition, the new release provides support for a large number of printers and enhancements in e.g. Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) and G7 Calibration Module (G7CM).
