The Presstek 52DI-AC brings new capability and competitiveness to high quality short-run printing market. It prints 520 x 375 mm and can print 300 lpi (120 l/cm) and FM screening. It is best suited to runs ranging in the 500 to 20,000 range. The press supports both flood (full page) and spot aqueous coating. Aqueous coating capabilities support a range of substrates up to 20-point thick. This environmentally-friendly solution offers waterless printing, water-based aqueous coatings, on-press chemistry-free platemaking and generates substantially less waste than conventional offset printing processes. The fast drying aqueous coating reduces the use of spray powder. It also utilizes anilox metering, which precisely measures and controls the amount of coating being applied. The press will be available for delivery in early 2010.
