OmniCube

OmniCube, a new full-cube reflective sheeting that provides higher reflectivity for road signage, will be introduced by the Avery Dennison Graphics and Reflective Products Division (GRPD) in Booth 1124 at the annual ATSSA Convention and Traffic Expo.

OmniCube's cube technology makes it easier for drivers—of trucks, SUVs, minivans, vehicles or motorcycles—to see and read traffic signs because more light is reflected back from the vehicle's headlights hitting the sign. OmniCube full-cube prisms are designed to be 100 percent efficient and return approximately 60 percent of available light back to the driver compared to only about 40 percent with other prismatic sheeting products.

"OmniCube was engineered with higher reflectivity to improve driver safety," said Kevin Brinker, global product manager, traffic and safety, GRPD. "OmniCube's intelligent cube technology efficiently returns light to drivers of all types of vehicles making it smart at every angle."

Features of OmniCube sheeting include:

- Full-cube prisms that are designed to be 100 percent efficient, significantly increasing the light reflected compared to standard-cube technology.

- Engineered multiple cube angles to provide better visibility for drivers of trucks, SUVs and minivans, automobiles and motorcycles at virtually any angle.

- Precision-tiled cubes allow signs and letters to perform consistently.

OmniCube is designed to provide uniform reflectivity allowing sign fabricators to "nest" shapes and letters--eliminating waste--without affecting the reflectivity of the sign.

OmniCube exceeds all requirements of ASTM D4956-09 for Type XI sheeting. Avery Dennison is committed to highway safety and has developed a full range of prismatic sheeting products including T-7500MVP, Omni-View and now OmniCube--offering the traffic engineering community multiple reflective options.

OmniCube will be available for purchase in Q2 of 2010.
