Vehicle wrap professional Mike Postill has announced the launch of The Wraptor: the industry's first wrap installation assist device.
"This is truly the vehicle wrap industry's first innovative solution that assists during the wrap installation process. Vinyl application has become more sophisticated in recent years with industry certifications, but the tools for installation have been slow to come," said Postill, The Wraptor's inventor and an industry veteran in Tampa, FL with more than10 years experience.
He identified the need for an assistant last fall when he was forced to cut staff due to a softening of sales. "The market slowed down considerably and sales became more of a challenge due to the consumer's tight purse strings late last year. With fewer personnel I found myself spending much more time installing and realized the importance of having an additional and constant set of hands - which lead to the birth of The Wraptor," said Postill.
This tool creates ease of installation by allowing the end user to suspend a single digital print up to 20 feet wide by him or herself. Applying vinyl horizontally averts the time spent aligning vertical seams and also produces a better looking end result.
"Prior to The Wraptor, this type of process would normally take two or three people who would then apply the print to the vehicle hoping that they got it lined up appropriately, let alone an exact match to the other side," said Postill.
The Wraptor will do that and more for the installer with features like single person deployment with one-piece installation, height potential of up to 16 feet, and 360 degree angling. The Wraptor provides the installer with tolerance levels allowing for minimal "stretch" of product thus not rupturing or bruising, all the while providing maximum "slidability"of product during deployment. There is minimal deflection when fully deployed in the horizontal position allowing ease of alignment when working with panels.
Additional features include portability with its smooth rolling and lockable casters and on-board measuring tools. It compacts to store in an area of only six square feet, allowing even the smallest of shops to own The Wraptor. Postill also utilizes a laser alignment technique in tandem with his Wraptor which saves even more time on difficult precision jobs. He's happy to share his technique with all Wraptor users.
The Wraptor provides its owners a realized profit center with negligible waste, thus producing a smooth, clean vehicle wrap installation in less time with fewer personnel. In addition to cars, vans, busses and trailers, The Wraptor makes vinyl applications to walls, floors, windows and buildings easier and less time consuming.
