As the popularity of wall and window graphics for the interior design and home décor markets continues to grow, MACtac Graphic Products is driving the development of marking film solutions specifically designed to meet market and customer needs. Providing printers and sign shops with a new, versatile solution for interior and home décor graphic applications, MACtac has expanded its established marking films line with its new MACmark 8900 series.
Launching 31 matte and gloss color options, the MACmark 8900 series is the most versatile product in MACtac's MACmark line, featuring a unique, semi-permanent, solvent-based adhesive that quickly forms a strong bond to most substrates while removing cleanly following use. The adhesive's special attributes also allow for application in cold temperatures, offering a wide range of possible application environments.
"Marking films have been used for years in traditional applications like fleet graphics, tradeshow and retail promotions, but their use in the home décor market has really exploded in popularity recently," said Rick Moore, marketing director, MACtac Graphic Products. "Distributors and printers have been asking for a versatile marking film like our new MACmark 8900 series, and we have already seen it used for a variety of new applications in the interior design market as well as for window marking, paint mask, basketball courts, movie sets, and more. Our customers have driven the demand for this product; it may be the most versatile product in our marking film range."
Available in two gloss and 29 matte-finish colors, MACmark 8900 series intermediate marking films are 2.8-mil soft calendered vinyls coated on one side with a removable solvent-based adhesive. The clear adhesive is protected by a highly stable 83# white kraft liner, and the backing paper features grid lines, which allow for easy alignment and installation. In addition, the new marking films offer the same superior, smooth cutting and weeding typical of the MACmark series.
With an outdoor durability of three to four years, the MACmark 8900 Series films can be removed cleanly for up to two years after application, making them ideal for applications such as decorative wall designs, window graphics, vehicle marking and other indoor or outdoor advertising signage.
Combined with additional products in the MACmark 8300 series of marking films that feature a permanent adhesive, MACtac's offering includes 84 different hues, finishes and effects for whatever intermediate needs that arise.
