Contex has introduced its new low-cost 24-inch Multi-Function Solution: the XD2490 MFP. This low cost scan, copy and communication device has at its heart the XD2490 scanner.
"The XD2490 MFP is perfect for small offices where a traditional wide format copy solution is too costly or too large," said Niels Appel, executive vice president, sales and marketing. "With the success Contex has had with our low cost 24-inch scanner, we knew it would be very attractive to our customers to use the XD2490 Multi-Function solution to turn office printers into office copiers. The XD2490 MFP includes Nextimage TOUCH software for walk-up ease of use. With Nextimage TOUCH, users can scan-to-file, scan-to-email, copy, edit files and print directly from the touch-screen interface. It supports scanning and copying in color, grayscale and black/white and is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. The XD2490 MFP with Nextimage TOUCH software is recommended for all types of technical drawings, line drawings and office graphics. It will Plug 'n' Play with a customer's existing printer and it supports all major printer brands, such as HP, Canon, Epson and Xerox.
"I cannot believe how easy the system is to use. The scanner does everything we need it to do. The Nextimage software allows us to set various resolution levels when we are scanning. The preview feature allows us to review the document prior to scanning into our database. As we are about to start a Database conversion from paper to digital, the XD2490 will do what we need since all of our documents are 24x36 inches or less," said Steve McCandless, GIS manager of the Town of Charlestown, RI.
