Roland has introduced the company's largest vinyl cutter to date, the 64-inch CAMM-1 PRO GX-640.
Building on 23 years of advanced CAMM-1 technology, the GX-640 sets a new standard for performance and precision across a wide range of media. The GX-640 outperforms other cutters on the market today with a new generation of hardware and software technology.
"For the past three decades Roland has combined technology and innovation into reliable, efficient products that continue to transform the way creative professionals work," said Dana Curtis, product manager for Roland. "Roland's most technologically advanced cutter to date, the GX-640 is built to work smarter, not harder, with features that simplify the workflow for even the most daunting challenges in contour cutting."
The GX-640 is ideally suited for restyling applications. Full integration with Roland VersaWorks RIP software allows it to contour cut pre-printed graphics for signage and decorated apparel. The GX-640 features the industry's most advanced DC servo motor technology for increased mechanical resolution to 3.5 microns. A total of ten pinch roll slots accommodate up to six added pinch roll assemblies to support the heaviest materials. Other features include the HEAVY MODE setting for large, heavy media such as sand blast mask, the OVERLAP function for multiple cuts on thick materials, and EXTEND mode for increased cutting width to aid in tracking long cuts.
The GX-640 comes with the latest version of CutStudio, Roland's powerful, easy-to-use design software. With CutStudio, users can draw or edit circles and curves, add text along an arc, and vectorize raster data. CutStudio is compatible with all current versions of Windows, 7/VISTA/XP(32 and 64 bit), and includes plug-in software for Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW for Windows, and Adobe Illustrator for Mac. As a result, users of these programs need no additional software.
The CAMM-1 PRO GX-640 is priced at $6,995 and available from authorized Roland dealers. The CAMM-1 PRO line also includes 30-, 40-, and 50-inch models. All models are backed by Roland Care service and support and a three-year warranty.
