Roland DGA Corporation has introduced a new sublimation solution for its VersaArt series of four-color CMYK wide-format inkjet printers.
VersaArt printers are available in two models, the 64-inch RS-640 and 54-inch RS-540. Both deliver rich, saturated colors, exceptional print quality and high-speed performance, all at an affordable price. For sublimated graphics, VersaArt printers require the addition of Roland's BU-2 high capacity ink system and SBL2 sublimation inks. VersaArt printers are also available in eco-solvent models featuring Roland ECO-SOL MAX ink.
"VersaArt sublimation printers are flexible production tools for applications ranging from soft signage and apparel to interior décor items," said Andrew Oransky, director of product management for Roland DGA Corp. "Equipped with Roland's proven SBL2 sublimation inks in 1 liter bottles, VersaArt printers feature Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology for exceptional print quality in every mode."
VersaArt sublimation printers produce vivid colors and image well at print speeds up to 342.6 sqft/hr. Designed for unattended production, VersaArt printers can be upgraded with an optional take-up system handling media rolls up to 66 pounds. Automated maintenance minimizes ink, labor and downtime. VersaArt sublimation printers are Energy Star certified and carry Roland's Eco-Label for environmental compliance. Roland VersaWorks RIP software is included.
Built on the latest Adobe PostScript Engine, Roland VersaWorks RIP software supports Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology. VersaWorks features include advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options, embedded ICC profile support and the Roland Color System for precision spot color matching.
Variable Data Printing makes it easy to personalize athletic apparel and uniforms with individual names and numbers. The VersaWorks estimation tool automatically estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic to accurately monitor time and costs. With VersaWorks, users can control up to four Roland inkjet devices and cutters from one personal computer. The Roland@NET auto update feature ensures ongoing access to the latest VersaWorks version and profiles available. VersaWorks supports Windows 7, Vista and 2000/XP, and works seamlessly with popular design software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and CorelDRAW.
VersaArt printers are available through authorized Roland dealers and priced at $17,895 for the RS-640 and $16,295 for the RS-540. The BU-2 ink system is required for sublimation and priced at $1,999.99. SBL2 inks are priced at $129.99 per liter.
