Durst has launched DIVATM, a Digital Varnishing Module for the Rotoworx 330 modular Finishing System.
The DIVATM module, developed and manufactured by Durst’s Montreal, Canada based subsidiary, will be showcased at LabelExpo in Chicago on September 14-16, 2010 where the Company will exhibit its growing range of products for the Narrow Web Label Industry—including the Tau 150 Digital UV Inkjet Printing Press.
"DIVATM will provide our customers with the unique ability to produce different gloss levels—high gloss, semi gloss, satin, matte, etc. with one single fluid in one single pass—a first in the industry. In addition, it is completely digital enabling customers to produce special effects, such as textures and even tactile elements, and vary the top-finish from label to label," said Dr. Richard Piock, managing director, Durst. "We have a strong commitment to innovation and we continue to accelerate our R&D investments with a major focus on the label market. We believe that the DIVATM module will be a very important source of competitive advantage for our customers."
The 13-inch-wide DIVATM module is fully integrated with the Rotoworx 330 which already features semi-rotary die-cutting at speeds of up to 160 fpm, lamination and UV flood coating. Existing Rotoworx 330 machines can be field upgraded with the new module which will commence shipment immediately after the LabelExpo show.
In addition to the Rotoworx products, Durst will at the upcoming LabelExpo 2010 present other elements of its end-to-end solution for the label industry including pre-press workflow software and the Tau 150 Digital UV Inkjet Printing Press—with a speed of 157 fpm, the fastest digital press on the market.
