ICEserver Litho 2.0

FineEye Color Solutions has revealed that several features in ICEserver Litho 2.0 play key roles in faster processing, better control and sharper image output.

Introduced only months ago, version 2.0 of this hot folder enabled Macintosh application processes press-ready CYMK PDF files prior to output on sheetfed or heat- and cold-set web presses. ICEserver Litho users note that "ICE'd" files create cleaner colors, neutral gray balance and improve dynamic range while providing far greater press stability and consistency—and in the process, they significantly reduce manufacturing costs with faster makereadies and an average 25 percent reduction in CMYK ink consumption. ICEserver Litho accomplishes all this while adhering to industry print specifications such as GRACoL and SWOP.

"Several seemingly minor and seldom mentioned ICEserver automated workflow features bring additional functionality to our software and further distance it from competitive products," said Ian Mackenzie, vice president of marketing for FineEye. "Our customers have seen speed increases of over 400 percent after installing version 2.0. Many competitors offer some of these features, but ICEserver Litho 2.0 offers them all."

• Embedded PDF libraries that significantly increase the processing speed of complex PDF files

• Multi-processing that lets users optimize up to eight PDF files simultaneously

• Sharpening—the "tweak" that improves image clarity, especially on lower quality papers

• Streamlined interface for greater user ease and speed

• Load balancing, for more intelligent use of multiple processors across all workflows, including Kodak Prinergy, Agfa Apogee and Rampage

"In addition, we offer several different configurations of ICEserver Litho 2.0," Mackenzie continued. "This enables users to further custom-tailor this product to their budget as well as the specific needs of their own unique print operation and customer base.

"Every ICEerver 2.0 configuration, however, comes with our XG (Expanded Gamut) option, enabling users to offer their clients a choice of conventional, standards-based printing or output with up to a 20 percent wider color gamut. Either way, they can count on substantial ink savings and less waste, with unparalleled ease of use and Return on Investment."

Further evidence of ICEserver leadership in quality along with savings comes from the recent IPA Ink Optimization RoundUP, an independent study of 11 competing software offerings including those from Alwan, CGS, GMG and Kodak. ICEserver Litho was judged to have produced the best visual results while adhering to the GRACoL print specification, delivering superior quality that print buyers as well as providers look for.

ICEserver products also come with a money-back guarantee, Mackenzie added, noting that samples and information regarding trials, testing and IPA results are available at FineEye Color's website or via phone: 616/988-6119.
