The FUJIFILM Digital Inkjet J Press 720 will be running live throughout GRAPH EXPO at booth #414. It fills the wide gap between toner-based digital and offset printing formats and is the true alternative to the short-run offset press. It delivers the quality of an offset press, fits the format size needed for various post-printing processes while also giving users the capability of handling smaller run lengths, VDP applications, and quicker turnaround times.
The J Press 720 prints on coated offset stocks. It uses water-based, eco-friendly ink so there is no toner pile-up, resulting in an offset-like finish and quality. The water-based inks also means the unit requires less cleaning and produces less waste.
It prints up to 2,700 28.3x20.5-inch four-up size sheets per hour, or 10,800 8.5x11-inch pages per hour. Thanks to a true 1200x1200 dpi print resolution and four level gray scale capability, the J Press 720 boasts color and quality never previously seen from a digital device. Print quality is achieved by utilizing Fujifilm Dimatix’s SAMBA single pass piezo drop-on-demand inkjet head technology.
The press’ integrated controller incorporates an advanced color management system and color calibration capabilities that maximize consistency without requiring excessive intervention or expertise from the press operator. The J Press 720 also has an incorporated infrared drying system, which means no drying time is necessary after printing so sheets are immediately ready for finishing.
