Epson Americahas unveiled the Epson Stylus Pro 7900CTP system, for small to medium-sized print shops that typically use polyester plates to easily and affordably integrate true aluminum press plates into their workflows. The Epson 7900CTP is a complete turnkey system that combines an Epson Stylus Pro 7900 printer with a plate curing device, RIP software, and plate guide attachment. Designed for printing press duplicators and small printing press businesses, the 7900CTP offers better quality prints on press, lower maintenance costs, a chemical-free process and a lower total cost of operation.
The 7900CTP system features Epson DirectPlate Aluminum technology, a high-resolution aluminum press plate chemically coated to work with standard Epson UltraChrome Ink Technology. Once imaged and following a quick heat curing process, the Epson DirectPlate Technology can produce up to 20,000 impressions. The result is a superior press output with better solids, cleaner halftones and sharper text and line art with the ability to reach up to 175 lpi press output. Epson DirectPlate Aluminum technology is a chemical-free process.
The 7900CTP system relies on a standard Epson Stylus Pro inkjet printer with simple consumables replacement, making it easier to use and maintain. In addition, the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 printer can be used to create proofs of print jobs or even banners and signs.
