Morgana DocuMaster Pro

Morgana Systems Limited (Booth 3638), the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of digital finishing solutions, is showing the latest enhancement to its postpress range with the introduction of the new DocuMaster Pro booklet maker. The recently upgraded version of the product can be seen in action in the U.S. for the first time at GRAPH EXPO.

Designed to overcome the difficulties associated with finishing pre-collated, digitally printed page sets, the product produces high-quality booklets, including the creasing of covers and internal pages prior to folding in order to help eliminate unsightly cracking in the fold. The new Pro version of the machine has doubled productivity offered by the DocuMaster thanks to the introduction of PosiFeed, a Morgana designed feeding solution.

With the new PosiFeed, the feed drum stops as the vacuum pulls the sheet down before re-starting and feeding the job through the machine. This enhancement means that the feeder can be piled higher and enables the system to handle heavier and more difficult substrates. Using stepping motor technology the Morgana DocuMaster Pro is able to accurately position the printed sheet prior to creasing.

The addition of Morgana’s 7" SmartScreen technology provides for fast and easy set-up and operation of the DocuMaster Pro, as well as creating an easy to learn, green-button system.

Sheets can be creased up to 16 times, whilst one fold per sheet can be incorporated. DocuMaster Pro can produce up to 1,560 booklets per hour from sheet sizes of up to 18x12.5". Minimum sheet size that the system can handle is 8.26x5.5". Cover thicknesses of up to 0.015" (approx. 150-pound) can be accommodated, with a maximum book thickness of up to 22 sheets of 0.004" (approx. 20-pound bond).

Morgana provides an unrivalled range of digital finishing products from the simplest, entry level creasing units up to highly sophisticated multi-functional systems offering a range of finishing capabilities in a single unit. Latest products from Morgana also incorporate JDF readiness and the ability to handle variable data input.

Morgana’s purpose built factory in Milton Keynes produces more than 4,000 finishing products each year, with over 80% of these destined for the company’s rapidly growing export markets.
