Agfa :N92 -VCF Plates Product From Agfa Graphics: Agfa Graphics (Booths 844, 2611) is unveiling Agfa’s :N92 -VCF (Violet Chemistry-Free) digital plate. Based on existing photopolymer technology, :N92 -VCF is a chemistry-free plate that requires no developer. Like other violet offset plates, it is sensitized for visible lasers emitting at 405nm, but is designed for chemistry-free operation, giving newspaper printers the opportunity to use less expensive clean-out units (COU).

The :N92 -VCF chemistry-free plate works with all mainstream violet newspaper CtP systems that emit at least 30 mW. During exposure, the violet laser diode starts the polymerization of the image area, which is completed in the first section of the COU. Subsequently, the plate is gummed with industry standard plate gum. During this process the soft, unexposed non-image area is easily and cleanly removed.

Though the :N92 -VCF is a chemistry-free plate, it looks, feels and behaves as any other metal offset plate. :N92-VCF combines fast, accurate and wide-latitude plate exposure with chemistry-free processing, while ensuring predictable, consistent performance on press.
