Agfa Graphics (Booths 844, 2611) is showing :Arkitex 7, the newest release of its workflow system designed for complete management and control of newspaper production
Integrating equipment and automates tasks throughout the newspaper publisher’s prepress process, :Arkitex 7 provides a number of new features and benefits: soft proof comparison, which quickly highlights differences between various versions of a page or different pages, advanced fast-track which allows complete plate production without creating a plan, and soft/hard proof furniture, which is useful for visually confirming that page content is properly positioned especially when dealing with external customers.
As a complete workflow system, :Arkitex includes a variety of modules that assist in the newspaper production process. Each module covers different tasks within the newspaper publisher’s workflow, including page production and transmission, reporting, barcode tracking, page and sheet based soft proofing, approvals, real-time tracking information, automatic ink adjustment, automated color proofing, and more.
In addition to the traditional 2-, 4- and 8-up imposition, :Arkitex 7 also supports 3- and 6-up impositions for newer presses or for older retrofit presses. :Arkitex 7 also controls the sequence of plate production, supporting presses with automatic plate loading systems or customers requiring output of many plates in a predefined order.
