ROLAND 200 & 200 H

ROLAND 200 & 200 H

ROLAND 200 & 200 H Product Image

The new ROLAND 200 with extended delivery module remains compact but is yet able to valuably enhance superior printed products. Coating with a screen roller and chambered doctor blade achieves up to 70 gloss points and, with suitable material combinations, even more.

A new development is the coating enhancement with a coating device integrated in the ROLAND 200 H (High Pile Delivery) extended delivery module. The time is past when you could count the printing units to see whether a press can print more than four colors in one pass. The idea is both ingenious and simple: the coating module is integrated in the ROLAND 200 H extended delivery module. In addition, the ROLAND 200 offers two proven coating configurations. One is the ROLAND InlineCoater smart, the ideal solution when 15 to 50 percent of the jobs are coated. The other is the classic inline coating module after the last printing unit when virtually every sheet is coated.

The InlineCoater smart is integrated directly in the printing unit. For each specific job it is used to coat, print, die-cut, crease, etc. Flood coating is applied via the blanket. Glue flaps for folding carton production are left free of coating by stripping the blanket. The ROLAND SelectDryer dries the sheet with infrared radiation and air and is available for both the ROLAND 200 and the ROLAND 200 H.

The classic coating module (InlineCoater) offers total flexibility: flood or spot coating; coating with a blanket or coating plate; using a wide range of coatings from dispersion gloss coating to special coatings. There is no changeover from printing to coating and vice versa. The extended delivery with the appropriate ROLAND SelectDryer ensures fast drying and thus fast production.

Twice as good: the Twin Effect

A combination of spot oil-based varnish and flood dispersion coating produces matt/gloss effects. Glossy dispersion coating is applied over the oil-based varnish, which results in a matt structured surface where the varnish and coating come into contact. Areas free of oil-based varnish are covered only by the glossy coating. This results in an attention-grabbing matt-gloss effect – the Twin Effect.

Creative steps: from embossing to die-cutting

Customary tools for die-cutting, creasing, scoring, perforating or slight embossing can be used in the printing unit respectively delivery module of the ROLAND 200 H. These are re-usable for repeat jobs. If only a few die-cutting tools for instance are needed for a job, these can be positioned on a magnetic foil, which saves form production costs. Finishing of labels or commercial printing jobs such as covers, catalogs, brochures or cards takes place inline along with printing. This saves one or more production steps and the product can be delivered to the customer sooner.

Inline production for commercial success

Inline processes offer enormous advantages in cost efficiency and productivity. Inline coating or inline die-cutting or other inline functions – there is only one makeready, one spoils allowance, and proven operators control production. There are no downstream production steps. Here are four convincing arguments for inline enhancement and thus for commercial success:

* Be faster than your competitors, through inline processes

* Produce cheaper, with fewer production steps

* Produce better with the assured quality of the coating device

* Differentiate yourself with a variety of high-quality enhancement methods
