PlateWriter 3000

PlateWriter 3000 Product Image

Glunz & Jensen officially launched the new PlateWriter 3000, a 2-up and 4-up chemistry-free CtP system designed to help small to mid-size commercial printers eliminate plate production errors, eradicate chemicals, waste and water usage – resulting in significantly lower energy bills.

The PlateWriter 3000 is a fully featured system that includes

  • A PlateWriter 3000 CtP engine - up to 20 pph (2-up) or 10pph (4-up)
  • Full resolution Harlequin based RIP with a powerful hardware platform
  • An integrated finishing unit to cure the plates without the need for chemicals or processing

Because Glunz & Jensen iCtP plates are not chemically processed, all conventional processing variables are eliminated hence corresponding processing concerns and errors are excluded. This results in plate production with high stability. The iCtP plates are finished using low energy halogen heat sources in the integrated finishing unit, then automatically gummed. They do not require processing baths, exposure units or rinsing water, yielding a very low energy consumption plate making solution with an improved ecological footprint.

This makes Glunz & Jensen's PlateWriter3000 system the most versatile/lower cost solution in the market. Aggressively priced at €25,995 the PlateWriter 3000 system delivers high productivity and reliability at the level of conventional 4-up thermal systems but at a significantly lower cost.

The PlateWriter3000 is ideal for commercial printers that use up to 10.000 sqm/year of plates:

  • 2,000 plates per month on smaller presses (2-up)
  • or up to 1,250 plates per month on medium sized presses (4-up)

Mark Baker-Homes, iCtP Business Director, Glunz & Jensen stated:

"Our new PlateWriter 3000 chemistry-free CtP solution is the third generation of Glunz & Jensen's inkjet CTP technology. With over 700 systems already installed worldwide, we wanted to bring the extraordinary success we had with this technology to the medium sized commercial printer.

"We also focused on helping our customers combat climate change; the various governments have set a target of reducing CO2 levels by 30 percent by 2030…and one of the best ways we can all help meet this target is to utilise more energy efficient plate making systems. The Glunz & Jensen's PlateWriter series are amongst the most energy efficient plate makers you can buy, in addition all PlateWriters' eliminate chemicals from your platemaking process. Installing a PlateWriter, will help printers meet new government guidelines relating to the use of chemicals in the workplace and eliminate all chemical disposal costs.

"In some countries the significant energy reduction that is achieved with a PlateWriter can enable printers to qualify for subsidies or grants that help to make an upgrade.
