Agfa's (Booth 1227) :Apogee Prepress 7.1, being launched and shown for the first time at Graph Expo 2011. It is Agfa’s JDF-enabled prepress production hub that provides automation throughout the production environment. :Apogee Prepress 7.1 is a major upgrade to the :Apogee Workflow Management Suite.
:Apogee Prepress supports the latest version of Adobe PDF Print Engine and offers multi-part job support, reducing setup time and allowing for easy status tracking.
Integration between :Apogee Prepress and a digital press is accomplished through CIP4's Digital Print ICS compliant JDF/JMF. :Apogee Prepress becomes the facilitator in a “hybrid workflow.” It manages the creation of proofs, plates and the digital print-ready files.
Automated job processing can be controlled and job tracking and job cost calculations can be performed by communicating accounting-specific information to a JDF/JMF-enabled MIS system. Proofing and color management enhancers control and provide proofing accuracy.
:Apogee now supports a wider range of third-party CtP devices and the latest inkjet proofers. New functionality in Digital Printing capabilities include SKU-based job control and enhanced VDP support for Agfa’s :Dotrix and :M-Press, and JDF integration to third-party digital presses. Enhancements to :Apogee Impose provide higher levels of automation, customization and JDF connectivity to planning and MIS systems.
