As it marks the 20-year anniversary of the first Fiery digital print controller, EFI (Booth 2000) will be showing for the first time at Graph Expo 2011 the next-generation Fiery platform that ensures the highest productivity and delivers ultimate color and image quality for digital print production engines. Launched in early August, Fiery System 10 combines latest generation hardware with new, advanced features designed to exceed the demanding requirements of pre-press and production customers.
Two notable new features involve image correction and calibration. The Fiery Image Enhance Visual Editor (IEVE) is an image correction and enhancement tool accessed directly from the Fiery Command WorkStation print job management and user interface software that ships with Fiery System 10. IEVE allows editing each image in a job without going back to the native design file, saving time and reducing costs. IEVE provides an interactive toolset for optimizing image appearance and applying automatic per-image corrections, to ensure photos look their best. This tool also gives users a manual control to individually adjust brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, color balance, sharpness and to make red-eye corrections on any image within a job.
Fiery System 10 offers a new calibration workflow which a shop owner or operator can depend on to provide consistently reproducible output. The new calibration workflow makes it easy for even an untrained operator, and has built-in timely warnings to help ensure calibration.
