The under-development, violet sensitive PDP-VL plate uses a polymer cross-linking technology that requires no chemical processing to create the image area. The PDP-VL plate resembles a typical metal plate with a gray background and a clearly visible blue image area, allowing for easy plate inspection prior to mounting and while on the press. This future product is designed for high resolution printing with run lengths of up to 20,000 impressions, producing output with the offset quality and affordability of Mitsubishi Imaging's premium Silver DigiPlate. Plus, this unique chemistry-free plate requires only water for rinsing; with no pre-heating and no gumming needed.

The PDP violet CTP platesetter, with its small footprint, chemical-free plate production, high speed output and low energy consumption will provide small and mid-size commercial printers a fully automated, environmentally friendly CTP system.
