Heidelberg USA (Booth 1200) is debuting Prinect Image Control, a fully integrated, closed-loop scanning spectrophotometer. Image Control uses the latest spectral technology to measure color bars (single and multi-line), MiniSpots, and image areas, digitally transferred by an incoming CIP4-PPF (Print Production Format) – all in a single pass with minimized operator input. The platform connects to up to four presses.
Completely redesigned, and featuring enhanced PDF connectivity, Prinect Image Control has a resolution of 50dpi (increased from 12dpi), acquiring data from 3,000,000 spectral curves with spot sizes of 0.52x0.52 mm and is rated to a resolution of 200 dpi (50,000,000 spectral curves) for future development. Jobs can be prepared so color patches and MiniSpots are positioned in non-printing or waste areas of the sheet, maximizing sheet space by eliminating the use of a standard color bar.
