3M and EFI have launched another co-branded UV ink set covered by the 3M MCS Warranty. The new UV inks are for use in the two-meter EFI VUTEkâ GS2000 and three-meter VUTEk GS3200 and GS3250 rigid and roll-to-roll printers. Using the new co-branded UV ink, EFI customers can print an extended range of applications offered by 3M materials with the assurance of the 3M MCS Warranty.
These low odor, flexible, eight-color inks (CMYK, lc, lm, ly, lk) are designed for use with opaque, translucent and reflective 3M media to meet a wide range of large-format printing needs including fleet and vehicle graphics, indoor and outdoor signs, and promotional graphics on rigid or flexible substrates. The new co-branded UV inks are now commercially available.
"Our goal is to continue to collaborate with our long-standing partner, EFI, and develop a full portfolio of UV inks that will increase the range of applications VUTEk GS Series printers are able to produce," said Jennifer Greenquist, inks and warranties business manager for 3M Commercial Graphics. "Today, we are very proud to offer the most flexible UV inks in the industry."
The 3M MCS Warranty covers defects in the appearance of finished graphics for up to four years outdoors, including discoloration, fading, cracking, peeling, and other defects that make the graphics unsuitable for their intended purpose and up to five years for vehicle graphics. These inks also come with an extended shelf life of 15 months. The new inks match the high standards of the current EFI ink set in terms of adhesion and color gamut, and are highly flexible with noticeably lower odor than other UV inks.
