Xerox’s Production Information Management System (PIMS) provides supervisors and operators with real-time intelligence to know the current state of their production workflow. As a new Web-based solution, PIMS allows customers to collect print engine data from selected high-volume Xerox color and black and white presses. These presses include the iGen 150 Color Press, the iGen4 Press, the Color 8250 and the Nuvera family of printers.
The system, seen in Booth 1202, can be used to track data from any number of presses regardless of physical location, giving printers access to information from a central site. To aid this expansion, users can create custom printer names for ease of identification. The relevant data is stored on a company-owned server and is controlled via a secure website. Users can view the system using a PC, Mac or tablet with a browser and permission to access the system. Both live and historical data of the machine status can be accessed for trend analysis.
The PIMS solution displays real-time production operation information, including print counts, fault conditions, delays and additional performance attributes, which help users to get more work produced within their shops. Recent additions to the solution include a data export capability using an API Interface, data backup and restore and an expanded display to allow viewing of multiple devices on one screen.
