At PRINT 13, MGI (Booth 3213) is presenting two upgrades to the JETvarnish 3D: a Twin option which doubles the coating speed or coating thickness in a single pass plus a new inline foil module (iFoil).
With the introduction of the JETvarnish 3D Twin, 3D raised effects can be applied at speeds up to 2,234 12x18” sheets per hour, which doubles the speed compared to the standard JETvarnish 3D configuration. MGI’s patented inkjet technology features a fixed head configuration, producing the new speed boost in just one pass while maintaining precise registration.
The JETvarnish 3D Twin also doubles the amount of coating that can be applied in one pass up to a maximum of 200 microns, opening up new markets such as Braille.
The field-upgradeable iFoil module works inline with the JETvarnish 3D’s digital process to enhance 3D effects with real foil (not simply coating over metallic film), creating an “embossed” look and feel on even the shortest runs economically. The JETvarnish 3D and iFoil is a variable data capable, fully digital workflow delivering maximum efficiency with practically zero waste.
A perfect complement to offset or digital presses, the JETvarnish 3D accommodates sheet sizes up to 20x42”and 24 points in thickness, with a maximum speed of 3,000 20x29” spot UV coated sheets per hour. The 100% digital process has virtually no makeready (no plates or screens required), perfect for runs from one to thousands.
