The automatic palletizer robot MPA from Segbert (Booth 3531) palletizes loose or wrapped/strapped bundles at high speeds. Cycle time is 16 bundles per minute; in combination with VVS pre-sorter up to 50 bundles/min for ZIP-code productions. This enables the palletizer to keep up with the fastest printing presses or finishing lines. The palletizer can handle stacks of loose signatures coming off a press, as well as bundles of saddle-stitched or perfect bound products that can be loose, strapped or wrapped. The bundles are transported on belts and rollers and are never pushed or gripped. That ensures that even very difficult (round, unbalanced) bundles can be palletized automatically. Each bundle can be positioned individually on the pallet surface. The layer program calculates exactly how the pallet is loaded most efficiently.
The process: The bundles run into the palletizer, are turned 45°, 90°, or 180° and transported further to an offset lifting table, where they will be further aligned to a row. The row is then transported to another belt. During this action a slip sheet can be transported from an integrated drawer and placed under the row of bundles for extra stabilization. As soon as a complete layer is ready on this belt, a deposit table moves over the layer and stabilizes it in all directions. The layer is then deposited onto the pallet. This process is repeated until the last layer is on the pallet. Then the pallet can be picked up by a fork lift truck or further transported to a pallet wrapper.
