HP SmartStream Production Center (Booth 1241) is a software-based digital production management system designed to address the challenges of efficiently receiving, producing and delivering high volumes of short-run digital print jobs. The system helps print service providers (PSPs) meet aggressive customer deadlines and optimize profit by monitoring production, improving job status visibility, automating and optimizing production workflows, and identifying and eliminating bottlenecks.
The software helps increase the productivity and efficiency for PSPs from prepress through finishing and shipping. The system supports any existing environment to automate production while managing hundreds or thousands of jobs from multiple sources, including Web portals, automated marketing systems, MIS systems, and prepress tools. Jobs are automatically routed to multiple production platforms, including HP Indigo Digital Presses and non-HP digital printers, offset presses, and finishing equipment.
HP SmartStream Production Center maps jobs to automated production plans for numerous applications while tracking print jobs from start to finish in real time using JDF/JMF protocols, hot folders, barcode scans, and manually entered data. Production plans are created and changed by a simple drag-and-drop operation. Other features, such as job clustering and batching, reduce waste, lower cost, and boost productivity. Priority settings can be adjusted on-the-fly to meet deadlines, alter delivery dates, and allocate resources.
In addition, customizable dashboards provide full insight and real-time visibility into the operation of production resources such as presses and finishing devices while also highlighting jobs’ statuses like overdue jobs and urgent requests on large screen displays, tablets, smart phones, PCs, and Macintosh computers alike.
