In answer to the growing market demand for soft signage, Agfa Graphics is launching Ardeco, its newest direct to fabric printing device. Ardeco delivers the highest level image quality in its price range. SGIA 2013 marks the first time the Ardeco is being shown anywhere in the world.
Ardeco combines advanced sublimation capabilities with a highly-accurate textile transport system. At 126 inches wide (3.2m), Ardeco comes in a choice of 8 or 12 print head configurations and features an optional inline cold-knife cutting system. Ardeco is a robust, production system built for heavy 24/7 workloads.
This fully-integrated digital textile solution is designed for volume production at 800 ft2/hour. The 7 pico-liter printheads ensure prints with rich vibrant solid colors, gradients of impeccable quality and high detail-rendered images. Soft signage printing is efficient with Ardeco since its calendaring capability is built in. This fixes the color onto the fabric while the water is being evaporated, resulting in an end-to-end system. There is no extra offline calendering unit which is a major cost savings and enhances productivity.
"Sign-makers and display producers looking to expand into soft signage will benefit from Ardeco's high productivity and high quality output," said Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing, Agfa Graphics, North America. "Any polyester based fabric can be printed with Ardeco opening doors into textile signage for the most demanding indoor and outdoor applications."
